It’s been 6 months now since you went up there. I can’t explain how much I miss you on a daily basis.
Today we did the Americade Ride, or rather in RKMCNY3 we called it the Dreams Ride, and we dedicated it to you. Took your favorite route up to Lake Placid. Not that you didn’t already know that. I took you with me. Wasn’t gonna let you miss it. None of us were. We all took a little piece of your memory with us today. And tho I am not one yet myself, the Knights didn’t skip a beat in calling me one today. That also may have to do with the fact that I guess you must’ve talked about me a lot… all I did was wear your jacket and most everyone knew who I was already… wonder what you were saying about me… This ride was an amazing experience and I didn’t even get the full deal. I rode in a regular old Honda Pilot, courtesy of Chief & Mrs. Wickham. Well, not just any old car, we were the caboose! We had a support role! Seeing Liz Miele riding today only made me a little jealous that I had to sit in a car and not get some of my own wind therapy, and seeing some of the hot rides the Knights had made me think a little more on this motorcycle license… there seem to be quite a lot of good reasons to do it if we bade it on today. Most notably the family it brings with the Red Knights. Just like any other fire family, welcoming newcomers into open arms and just being genuinely good company. Thank you Red Knights NY Chapter III for everything you all did today, and everything you will do in the near future. We’ll see you soon!! And Stevie Wright… I miss you. I love you. Dream with your eyes wide open. -Trever Moon (Lefty's grandson) |
