Get involved in your club!  There's a lot going on in the year besides just hopping on your hog and riding!  NY III is always involved in something and we could use your help!

STANDING COMMITTEES/ 2026 COMMITTEES


Audit & Finance Committee
A 2 or 3 person committee that meets within 90 days of the beginning of the year to review all finances and accounts of the chapter treasury.  They review the end of the year treasurer’s report with the Treasurer and report back to the members at the next monthly meeting.

SOGs Committee -Policies & Procedures
This committee maintains updates of the current standard operating procedures and policies for the chapter, keeping the chapter SOGs in compliance with International SOGs.  Any member wishing to make a change to the SOGs must submit in writing the proposed change to this committee prior to the monthly meeting for standardizations and any concurrent changes that may need to be made if the SOG is changed.  This committee does not approve or deny proposed SOG or policy change requests, it presents the proposed changes to the members for review.

Membership Committee
This committee accepts application requests for membership via electronic sources, in person, or by USPS.  This committee interviews the applicant, verifies the appropriate membership type, and verifies the applicant’s ethics with their emergency services agency, previous motorcycle clubs or RK chapters, and anyone in the chapter that may have sponsored them.

Nominating Committee
This committee is activated in November to accept nominations for the open positions of the coming year.  Nominees are verified that meet the appropriate member classification for the position per the SOGs.  They report the selected nominee’s names for elections in December.

Sunshine (Sick & Welfare) Committee
​This committee acknowledges chapter member’s important life events, illness, or the passing of members or family of members.  They are responsible to send cards, flowers, or gifts depending on the occasion.  All members are asked to report events to this committee to make sure no one is missed. ​

ABATE/PAC Committee
This Committee is the liaison between American Bikers Aimed Towards Education (ABATE), responsible for updating the chapter on new motorcycle legislation and road safety concerns.

AMERICADE Ride Committee
This Committee creates the annual NY III ride that is held on the Wednesday of Americade week.  Committee plans all logistics for and surrounding the guided ride.  The purpose of this ride is to strengthen and promote fellowship amongst the Red Knights and other firefighter groups who attend Americade.

America's 9-11 Ride Committee
This committee is responsible for coordinating the logistics for the 4-day America's 9-11 ride, honoring our fallen, from Shanksville, PA to the Pentagon in Washington D.C., to Ground Zero in New York City.  This includes fundraising.

2026 Dixie Rally

This committee is responsible for coordinating the logistics for the Chapter's participation in Dixie Rally convention, ride to and from Aberdeen, Maryland, May 14-17th.

Grievance Committee
This committee is chaired by the current Sergeant at Arms.  It is responsible for receiving and investigating complaints of misconduct and violations of the SOGs.

International Convention Committee
This committee is the liaison between participating members of NY III and the Red Knights International Convention committee.  They will update all activities surrounding the convention in Melbourne, Australia August 18th-23rd.

"Kick Stands Up" Committee
This committee organizes the annual get together/awards ceremony formerly known as the "Spring Fling/After Holiday" parties.  Facilitates all food, drink, and entertainment.

Meeting Room Committee
This committee is responsible for the upkeep and decoration of the Meeting Room at the NYRVFA clubhouse.
MEMBERS:  Cara Ryan (Chair), Bob Dennett, Cimber Root, Matt Mickle. Mary Croyle, Kenny Croyle

Memorial Tree Committee
This committee is responsible for the organization and decoration of the RKMC NY III Memorial Tree in Talmadge Park, Mechanicville.
MEMBERS:  Deb Landy (Chair), Cara Ryan, Donna Koch

Military Support Committee
This committee keeps the Chapter updated on active NY III military members and any potential needs they or their family may have during deployment.  They also keep us updated of any local military events or activities.  When no member is currently deployed, this committee looks for other ways to support our veterans.

Nickname Committee
This committee is responsible for soliciting input from the membership regarding official club nicknames.  Members are not allowed to come up with their own nicknames.

NY III Family Picnic Committee
This committee plans the date and location for our annual family picnic.  NY III supplies the main course and usually members brings the rest of the fixins. This event is a nice time for members to gather around and enjoy the fellowship of our friends and family in the chapter.

Non-Americade Camping Committee
This committee plans the dates for the annual Lake George Whippoorwill Camping week, as well as activities and rides during the week.  Coordinates with other chapters and the Whippoorwill Campgrounds.

Ride Committee/ Road Captain & Assistants
This committee is chaired by the current Road Captain.  Duties include the gathering of ride suggestions to create the annual ride schedule.  They plan the logistics of the rides and they ensure that all safety rules are followed during the course of the ride.  They ensure "No one is left behind"!

Riskie's Friskies (R.I.T.A. Walk)
This committee organizes the Chapter's participation and fundraising for the annual Suicide Prevention walk (R.I.T.A) in honor of our past member, Tracy Risko.

Safety Committee
This committee brings forth all updated safety information such as newly developed motorcycle safety equipment and products.  They distribute the annual schedule of the NYS Motorcycle Safety Foundation training classes held in our area for new and experienced riders.

Ways & Means (Fundraising) Committee
This committee is the backbone of our fundraising activities.  They are responsible for creating fundraising events and plan the logistics around those events.  The monies raised go into NY III's general fund to be used for donations, NY III regalia, and other membership approved expenditures.

Wearables/Regalia Committee
This committee falls under the direction of the Quartermaster.  The committee is responsible for trademarking and inventorying all official NY III regalia items.  These items may include clothing, coins, flags and other NY III sponsored merchandise.  It is responsible for inventory including merchandise pricing and accurate accounting of all expenditures and monies collected.

Yankee Rally Committee
This committee is the liaison between participating members of NY III and the Regional 1 Yankee Rally committee.  They will update all activities surrounding the rally and will set up the logistics to and from the convention in Seneca Falls June 3rd-6th.
