NY III had its own "Boxing Day", January 19, 2024.  The Chapter voted unanimously to "adopt" the USS Hershel "Woody" Williams, a Lewis B. Puller Class Expeditionary Mobile Base (ESB-4), currently in service with the United States Navy.  Active Member Bob Dennett and Social Member Linder Dennett have family ties to this ship (their son-in-law, Eric Soares, is currently deployed to her and will be shipping out soon).  To make Eric's and his shipmates time on board more comfortable, NY III purchased items and collected donations of non-perishable food/snacks and games for the brave Sailors of the "Woody" Williams.  We spent our Friday evening boxing them all up for ship shipping to the ship!  Thanks to Patriot Hills and our own Jeannine Mannarino (Social Member) for their matching donation!
